Could coral be the new white for wedding dresses?October 15, 2013
Well known wedding dress designer, Vera Wang, showcased her 2014 collection of gowns, choosing a blushing shade of coral rather than pristine white for her masterpieces.
Where some brides wish to keep things traditional, others decide to make their wedding dress even more memorable, by opting for different colour.
Vera Wang’s collection represents the modernised version of the wedding dress in her latest collection, which was inspired by classic film Funny Face, and Marilyn Monroe’s dress in Gentlemen prefer blondes.
The designer claims coral flatters all skin types.
The collection features an array of full-length dresses, with different cuts to suit most brides’ tastes.
Among the celebrities, who were hitched this year, some chose dresses with a shade of pink to modernise the white wedding dress tradition. Anne Hathaway and Jessica Biel are just two brides who picked a soft pastel pink for their dresses.
Punk rocker Avril Lavigne, for her second wedding to Nickleback singer Chad Kroeger, decided to go the complete opposite of white and walked down the aisle in a black gothic style wedding dress.
As celebrities appear to be going against traditionalism, the question is: Would you wear a different colour on your wedding day?
